Blogs and blogging are a real hit in the last couple of years. There are many people who have managed to earn a lot of money and become popular thanks to their blogs. Of course, profit and popularity are not the only reasons why someone would like to start a blog. It doesn’t really matter why you are interested in starting a blog – the best place to do this is at wordpress.com.

Once you go to this address you will see a very intuitive page on which you can choose to log in as an existing user or create a website. Of course, you will click the Create Website button.
The next step is to choose an appropriate theme. Take some time and find the one that you find adequate to your content. There is also an option to skip this step and decide later. Remember that you can change the theme at any time you want even though in some cases such changes will require modifications of other elements found on the blog.

imagesThe next step is more important. You will need to choose whether you want to get a free domain or paid domain. The free domains end with .wordpress.com while the paid domains can end in .com, .net, .org or some other domain name. Regardless of the option you choose, you can quickly check whether the name is free or not. What is important to understand is that the name cannot be changed, so be careful.

After that, you will get a chance to select a plan. Once again there is a free plan that comes with 3 GB and community support. There are two paid plans premium and business. If you are new into this we suggest trying WordPress.com premium package that comes with 13 GB space, custom site address, custom design, no ads and direct email support. Needless to say, these plans can be changed in the future.

The final step is reserved for the creation of the account. You need to add an email address and create a username and password and that’s it – your blog is created.

Once you receive a confirmation e-mail from WordPress, you will have to click the link and verify your profile. When you finally log in you will see the My Blog button. This is where you can find the New Post button used for the creation of new blog posts. The creation of content is simple and you can easily add photos and videos in the blog post. Just follow the instructions and the intuitive buttons and you won’t have problems with this task. You will also get a chance to add widgets, pages, modify the way comments appear and adjusting general settings. This is something that requires more time and knowledge, so don’t rush to finish everything at once.
We hope that this simple guide will help you setup your first blog and first blog post on WordPress.com.
